Deliberate Close Pass – Reported to Police but not investigated
25 Jun, 2025 - 8 months ago - on Erindale Road This was reported to the Police but Police refuse to investigate as they claim the footage was over 6 months old and it would be to hard to prove who was driving. I find this just a cop out pardon teh pun. This is a classic case of the West Australian Police Force not supporting cyclists. The Police wont even pay the guy a visit and say he's been cited to attempt him to change his behaviour. Also Sgt French from the Mirrabooka police station claims they only prosecute those that are deliberate acts. This was deliberate but too old. Ahhh sorry the law states a back and white rule on 1m or 1.5 m clearance and intent has nothing to do with it. Can the West Australian Police Force please start prosecuting people for these dangerous and deliberate intimidation acts. Pro active policing would be to send a car around, show the driver the footage and at the very least, give him a warning. By doing nothing, this driver will continue to commit these acts and will result in more and more reports to the police and potentially an injury or death.
