We turned left from North Lake Road onto Canning Highway from the left lane, as the road arrows allow, so we ended up in the left lane on Canning Highway.
The last rider took off slowly and only just noticed a car heading east on Canning Highway that didn’t look like it was going to stop, so they swerved to avoid it.
That made the driver slam on the brakes and the car ended up stopped in the middle of the intersection.
After that, the car followed us for about 500 m and wouldn’t pass until we turned off Canning Highway.
If the rider had taken off a bit quicker, they likely would have ended up directly in the car’s path.
